Laura Dessauer:
Laura JJ Dessauer, MS, ATR-BC, LCAT a nationally Board Certified Registered Art Therapist is the founder of the Creativity Queen, LLC-
2007 Small Business of the Year. Laura, a current doctorate student in Counseling Psychology, has been working with emotionally challenged, and at-risk children, adolescent, adults, and families for over 20 years.
Over the span of almost two decades, and having the privilege of working with over 1,000 individuals, Laura noticed that the most rapid progress made towards change involved focusing on her client’s strengths, not deficits. Encouraging her clients to use their inherent creative problem solving abilities, Laura helps her clients make positive changes that improve their relationships with others, increase flexibility, develop skills to manage difficult emotions and frustration, and learn how to create life long skills for success. Backed by the latest research Laura blends art therapy, positive psychology, choice theory, coaching, and creative play to tap into each individual’s unique resources and helps them discover their
creative solutions!
With her years of experience and education Laura has earned a reputation in FL and NY as the Art Therapist other therapists go to for training, personal growth, and to help their children create valuable solutions. The Creativity Queen’s mission is to create an environment that is encouraging and respectful while inspiring positive change.
Cara Levitt:
Cara Levitt, MS, ATR-BC, grew up in Sarasota and was a graduate of Out of Door Academy. She went on to graduate with a Masters of Science from an Art Therapy Graduate Program at Eastern Virginia Medical School, (2005) and is a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist. She has been doing art therapy in the mental health field for 5 yrs. She worked in a variety of settings such as group homes, residential treatment centers, hospitals, and schools. She has experience working with developmentally delayed children, behaviorally challenged children, and troubled adolescents. She also has experience working with families to promote change in family systems and improve relationships. She offers individual, group and family art therapy sessions.
